MSI U115 Hybrid Netbook

MSI recently launched its new U115 Hybrid Netbook. Unlike MSI’s previous Wind models which run on HDD, the U115 can operate on both SSD and HDD at the same time (where it got its “hybrid” name).  Though it operates on both storage mediums, this laptop is designed to take advantage of its SSD capabilities. It primarily uses the SSD as its main storage for OS and OS related applications while it reserves the HDD for secondary storage.  The U115 has an Eco Mode button which can disconnect the HDD for power saving. This 18.4-inch is one of the most powerful laptop among Acer’s gaming line.  This $1800 gaming laptop boasts a quad-core processor powered by 2.0 GHz of Intel’s Core 2 Quad Mobile Q9000 CPU.  That’s more than enough CPU power for extreme game processing. It’s video processor is NVIDIA’s GeForce 9700M GT with 512 MB of dedicated video memory. Whilst its RAM is capable of handling 4GB of DDR3 RAM.  In addition to these monstrous core features, the Acer Aspire 8930G Laptop is also equipped with an optional Blue-ray drive, WiFi capabilities and a 320GB of 7,200 RPM SATA Drive among others.  The Acer Aspire 8930G is the top-end product among Acer’s four gaming laptops.

MacBook Air in the Philippines

Steve Jobs recently launched the new MacBook Air during the Macworld Conference and Expo 2008. The Apple MacBook Air is a lightweight notebook (computer) which can fit in an ordinary Manila envelope. Apple claims that the MacBook Air is the world’s thinnest laptop computer with thickness ranging from 0.16″ to 0.76″.
