Samsung Corby Pro: The Corby Craze
It’s been going on for quite some time now. I have to say kudos to Samsung for their “colorful” marketing.
With the kids and teens looking for fun in their mobile experience, Cory comes butting in amongst their pricey competitions. This cute little device that was meant for socializing online was initially sold without a Wifi capability.
Then suddenly they decided to create it’s evolved form: Corby Pro.
Personally if I was looking for something quite affordable, fun to use, and not so cheap looking either, the Corby would be quite an option.
Let’s take a better look:
Design
No doubt the Corby Pro has a lovely exterior with its smooth curves. The colors are also very attractive and it definitely fits in the category of modern gadgets. The camera is properly located at the middle in the anterior portion of the camera. (I’m no big fan of upper right corner camera’s or upper left corner) The mash of colors is just amazing. I’ve seen two different Corby’s and both colors are truly eye-catching. Since it’s not too thin either, it allows a nice firm grip for the avid texters. The horizontal QWERTY keyboard is also nicely laid out with it’s slight bulging keys comfortably designed for quick messaging.
I love touch screens, which is probably why I got attracted to the Corby Pro, but what I also love is a keyboard. The horizontal QWERTY keyboard definitely gives my SMSing a whole new experience with it’s nicely spaced keys. I tried typing with it and despite it being my first time I quite enjoyed the experience as I didn’t experience any discomfort in hitting the right keys. This is definitely a big selling point for the Corby Pro as the other previous Corbies didn’t have this.
Social Networking
With the widgets for Twitter and Facebook and a whole lot more, social networking just got more convenient. You can twit away your status.
Web Browsing
Well I have to say it doesn’t have the fastest or best Browser but I can give you two words: MOBILE BROWSING. This is really just for mobile browsing. It’s slows down at times but I guess it’s safe to say it’s satisfactory
Communication
Qwerty Keyboard, Wifi, HSDPA, and Video telephony (or video calling, video conferencing)- this thing just doesn’t stop you from communicating all you want.
Conclusion
I can easily give this cool gadget an 8.6. It scored high in terms of features, price (11K+php) and design. I guess it didn’t do s0 well with it’s mobile browsing (but then again satisfactory). It very well compensates with its design and functionality.
