Asia GPS Maps for Nokia N82

Posted by Techie Kid on September 29th, 2008 and filed under Nokia

Have you tried using your GPS enabled phone for on-road navigation? Do you have the map?

One of the problems encountered by GPS owners is finding a source of where to download a map application for their mobile phone. This won’t be a problem when you’re living in the Americas and Europe. But for us who are from Southeast Asia, finding a GPS Map Application is a big trouble.

But not anymore, thanks to Navfone’s Asia Maps.

Asia Maps is an application preloaded to most NSeries phones bought in the Southeast Asian Region. NavFone offers map applications, guided navigation, and other basic GPS (Global Positioning System) functionalities.

Upon buying, the user chooses which default map to use. The user can use the map together with the phone’s on board GPS for a period of 60 days. After the 60 day demo period, the application will disable the GPS functionality. The map may still be used after the demo period has elapsed.

Most of Southeast Asian countries are already mapped by NavFone. Among these are Singapore, Manila, Cebu, Davao, Boracay, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Jakarta, Northern, Central and Southern Malaysia.

To download the asia maps application for your Nokia NSeries:

Select a map below to download:

or Go to NavFone’s e-Store to purchase the application and for the complete list of available maps.

The only possibility of getting maps from manila and other key cities in the philippines is to subscribe with Navfone Asiamaps. They have detailed maps of Manila, Cebu, Davao and Boracay.

    Hi,
Looking at the comment from Mon, I too would like to know if there is anywhere I can parchase Tomtom maps for Manila. I once saw an advertisement for the Tomtom Rider in the Philippines but can’t find any reference to Philippine maps on the Tomtom site. I have Tomtom software running on my Windows CE pda and my Symbian mobile phone, so these maps would be very useful !
