BlackBerry Storm in Philippines
Globe Telecom announced a few days ago the availability of the BlackBerry smartphone in the Philippines. BlackBerry Storm is BlackBerry’s first clickable touch-screen designe for communications and multimedia. Among the notable features of BlackBerry Storm is its stunning display, 3.2 MP Camera, Office Applications, built-in GPS, 3G/3.5G capability and other multimedia functionalities.

The BlackBerry Storm will also be available for both Business and retail customers. with various postpaid plans that fit their needs and lifestyle. With the launch of the BlackBerry Storm, Globe is introducing its new Personal BlackBerry Plans. Starting April 20, consumers can subscribe to Globe’s new Personal BlackBerry Plans for their BlackBerry and BlackBerry Connect handsets.
The Personal BlackBerry Plans are postpaid data plans that offer free mobile Internet hours. The available Personal BlackBerry Plans from Globe are the following:
- Personal BlackBerry Plan 700 (5 MB of data, approximately 55 emails per day)
- Personal BlackBerry Plan 850 (8 MB of data, approximately 90 emails per day)
- Personal BlackBerry Plan 1100 (10 MB of data, approximately 115 emails per day)
These are based on estimated emails using a BlackBerry handset.
Also, after Globe’s press release, Smart also announced the availability of BlackBerry in their network. Smart Communications will start offering free BlackBerry Storm in June 2009 as a bundle handset for Plan 3500.
