iPhone not just for the Rich – Tim Cook

iPhone
I was able to see the tweets posted in 9to5mac.com and it really is a wonder how business can shape our development of technology.
First let’s take a look at the development of the laptop. Initially we had notebooks/lifebooks and several other names for this mobile computer, the laptop. However, the need for something affordable and well in the boundaries of the needs of an average user called for the birth of the netbook.
While some people criticize how netbooks were a “reverse” in the development of technology I personally think it’s just business. Pure business. And that business did well.
I think Apple is seeing how much potential there is to hit that HUGE population of people who can’t afford the luxurious (well I personally can’t easily afford one) iPhone. Tim Cook mentioned that Apple did not want its products to be just for the rich.
I’m seeing a great effort to reach out to those who want to hop in the Apple parade but can’t shell out 250$ or more (I’m talking about non-contract units).
What do you guys think about where Apple is heading with this big change in pricing?
I just wonder exactly what a cheaper iPhone would be like and how cheap is cheap? What do you guys think?

well, based from the trending, the older generation of iPhones get cheap really fast the moment a newer version comes out. SO if you want a relatively cheaper iPhone4 just wait for the launch of the iPhone5 and you’ll see the decline in the prices on the iPhone4.
