Verizon HTC Thunderbolt Release Date on March 21, Says Facebook Page
There is no official announcement yet as of this moment when the hyped HTC Thunderbolt will be released. Earlier, rumors propagated that it will be released by February 10. However, that date just passed and the smart phone has not been released. We also saw the release date moving back to February 24, but it seems this date will also just pass without the release of the much awaited 4G phone from HTC.
Some news sites said that it will released soon giving “last week of February or first week of March” as the release date. However, this still remains vague as no exact date has been pointed out.
A Facebook page, which is believed to be owned by Verizon Wireless, has stated that HTC Thunderbolt’s release date will be on March 21, 2011. However, after examining what’s written under the company overview, it defies what it has stated “available in early February” since we are approaching the end of February.

If you want to be one of the early owners of this smart phone, you can now pre-order yours for a $50 deposit at a Best Buy store nearest you. The phone will be priced at $749.99 but you can avail of a much lower price with a 2-year contract at Verizon. As we recently saw, even the price of it with a 2-year contract at Verizon is uncertain. Earlier, we saw the leaked Best Buy ad at $249.99 but lately, we’ve been seeing it moving up at $299.99.
As it will be initially available at Best Buy, BestBuy.com already had a page specifically for HTC Thunderbolt here which highlights the specifications and features of the phone. Among the features include an Android v2.2.1 Operating System called Froyo, Stereo FM Radio, GPS, HTC Sense UI, Dual mics with noise cancellation, Google Services, etc.

Im going to get the droid x just to play it safe on how the 4g lte plays out on the battery or the thunderbolt.

I doubt this is real. I can’t seriously see Verizon screwing up this big, so my money is still on this week. Otherwise too many people will be tempted with waiting for the Droid Bionic. I, for one, wouldn’t be getting a Tbolt. Same deal if it’s priced at $300 (another rumor I don’t believe).

I am going to create an HTC Thunderbolt FB page of my own and state the release date as tomorrow. There is too much mis-information from unreliable sources going around. This is ridiculous.
Anything else people want me to put on the page?

Im eager to buy this damn phone once and for all. I can’t believe I have been reading articles about the TB everyday. I have college homework on top of this BS and a full-time job. I’m also taking care of my girlfriend that has undergone surgery due to a devistating fall on a patch of ice outside our condo. I’m taking this icrap 4 back to BB today just to play it safe. This will protect my upgrade eligibility.

Honestly, this article makes me sick because I am tired of reading everywhere that this phone is being delayed. Come on VZW, release the damn phone or stop playing with us and give us a definitive release date. I dislike the iPhone 4, which I purchased on the 10th. and will be going back.

one of my friends who works for verizon said they got an email just yesterday stating that they will be launching the phone on Feb. 28th which is this monday.

That page is not an official page. It’s been up for a few weeks already, and based on the grammar, it is clearly not a VZW-owned paged.
Move along people….

This is obviously not accurate. It is an old page back when it was believed that it would be released in march. Also, to back this up, it says a 16gb memory card will be preinstalled when it will actually be a 32gb and that’s on HTC’s website.

The specs are incorrect. The phone will be coming with a 32gb micro sd card. this is a false page. VZW does not mess around like that. They also do not say “see you there” ever. They would also include best buy, as they have full big box retail exclusivity.

Half the posts by the “owner” of that page are made via iPhone, whereas the official Verizon page uses a program called Verizon Publisher – hardly looks official, and they aren’t even consistent: their latest post lists tomorrow for the launch of 4G voice service (via the Thunderbolt unless they have another phone secretly coming out first).

I think the Thunderbolt is over rated and is priced too high. In addition, most areas do not have 4g coverage. Also, no Skype with Thunderbolt upon its release. Veriizon, HTC and BB dropped the ball on this phone. I have no interest in this phone anymore. All the hype for this phone and it has turned out to be a huge disappointment before its release. Verizon can’t even market the Thunderbolt right. The ad gives little detail about the phone and lacks marketing appeal. This is a fair warning for what to expect with this phone and Verizon.

I would not hold your breath for the Feb. 28th release date. I have been dead on thus far with my info and predictions. Verizon just keeps dropping the ball. The Thunderbolt is going to be a big disappointment. I can not believe Verizon has added insult to injury by asking $299.00 for this phone. This phone will be marked down to $150.00 before the summer starts and everyone will have forgotten all about the Thunderbolt.

Booooo! No TB for us today. Good thing I took the ICrap4 back last night. At this rate, who knows when that Damn TB will be coming out. I’ll wait impatiently. Sad thing is, I broke my contract with Sprint and was billed the ETF, so the TB will be costing me $450.00. Let’s hope I didn’t make a mistake.
