Smart Plug It: A new solution from Smart Broadband

Smart Broadband, Inc. recently launched it’s new product for wireless broadband access. It’s an extension of SmartBro product. But instead of using the Canopy-based system to connect to the internet, the new service will utilize the mobile network’s High Speed Data Packet Access (HSDPA) service.

The new service, dubbed as “Plug It, is a USB-based modem that can easily be plugged to a laptop or a desktop computer. According to the press release given by Smart, the new service will operate at the 384 to 768 kps speeds. Problems with iPod Software 1.2.2

Few nights ago, I tried pluggin in my iPod Video on my friend’s laptop to charge its batteries. I got excited when I saw that there has been a new iPod software update. My iPod currently runs iPod Software 1.2.1.

Because of my excitement, I tried updating my iPod the following day. But to my disappointment, iTunes now says that the latest iPod software available is 1.2.1. To VPS or not to VPS

My PRC Board Exam Results website has been experiencing a lot of server problems since Jehz and I launched it. Most of these problems are related to bandwidth and CPU usage.

Since October, our site has migrated from three different servers. First, I was the one who hosted it on my Gold Account at Marvins Web. Later on, we managed to transfer it on Jehz’s server. But before the month ended, the site already consumed the account’s allocated bandwidth. This incident pushed us to look for a bigger server. That was the time when Kuya Blogie offered his DavaoBlogs.com hosting account to host the PRC Board Exam Results website.

Starting a Tech Blog

Tech blogging for BY has been planned long time ago but it never pushed through, or rather, I did not make it push through. Thanks to Kuya Migs who convinced me to do a tech blog for mobile phones.

However, what I have in mind is not blogging for mobile phones alone. I’m planning to make this a general technology blog. I’d be blogging some developments on the latest technologies available to mankind, do some reviews on what’s hot in the market and give some techniques, downloads and other stuff related to this geeky techy-ness.

I think that’s enough for a start post. Stay tuned for some updates.
