Motorola Droid X receives Android 2.2.1 Update

Motorola Droid X will start receiving Android 2.2.1, a patch for the Froyo flavor of Android which was released by Google to its Nexus users weeks ago. Apparently, it seems that Motorola made a mistake in pushing the device to its Motorola users. ”Motorola tried to push out the update to a group of about 10,000 test users, but forgot about that handly little feature that turns the cellular radios off at night“, says Talk Android.
However, you can manually request the update from the OTA update server by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates on your Motorola Droid X. Most likely, the update will be there waiting for you. Be sure to charge up your phone before starting the installation of the Google Android operating system update.
