Google App Inventor for Android is a new tool that will let anyone create an application for Android without being a developer. With the App Inventor, you can build applications by just using a set of blocks to specify a particular code logic.

With the Google App Inventor, the number of applications in the Android Marketplace is expected to grow dramatically.

App Inventor provides you with the following:
- access to a GPS-location sensor
- access phone features of an Android phone
- a way to communicate with the web

Below is a sample screenshot of Google App inventor:

There are already sample apps built using the App Inventor for Android. These apps are:

DROIDMuni – display schedules of the San Francisco Transit System.

ParkIt – an app to locate your car

Drum Kit – an app simulating a full drum kit

Super Hero Game – a quiz game testing your super hero knowledge

Where’s Speedo – know where your friends/family are
