Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Messenger Apps for Android

Yahoo! just launched Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Messenger apps for Android and a Yahoo! Search Widget as well. For the iPhone and iPod touch users, Yahoo! Mail for mobile is now in HTML5. Anyway, I just tested how it looks in the iPhone and it looks pretty slick.
Yahoo! Mail for Android

Yahoo! Mail for Android is designed for phones running in Android OS 2.0+.
Features:
- Complete set of Yahoo! Mail features just like when it’s accessed in a browser
- Search messages by recipient, subject, date or keywords
- Access contacts from Yahoo! and your phone’s address book
- Send photos from your photo gallery as attachments
- View and download attachments
- Manage your mail
- Push notification
What’s great about this app for Android is that you can easily switch to Yahoo! Messenger and Yahoo! Mail easily. In addition, you may use rich text formatting for your email and add emoticons if you wish to.
As of the moment, Yahoo! Mail for Android is available only in English language. Support for other languages will come out soon.
Yahoo! Messenger for Android

Yahoo! Messenger for Android is designed for phones running in Android OS 2.0+.
Features:
- Instant notifications of new messages and friend requests
- See status of your friends and set your status as well
- Manage Yahoo! Messenger contacts
- Chat with your friends in Yahoo! Messenger and even with your MSN/Windows Live friends
- Send photos to your IM friends
- Use emoticons in your IM conversation
I like the UI of Yahoo! Messenger for Android. You can easily see what time and date of a particular message. In addition, Yahoo! Messenger for Android can run in the background. Which means, you can still stay connected and receive messages even if the app is not opened.
Yahoo! Search Widget for Android

If you prefer the search results of Yahoo!, you may use the Yahoo! Search Widget for Android instead of the default Google search widget. You may type the text that you would like to search and you also have the option to use the voice input to speak your search query. You’ll get to see search suggestions as well.
