Samsung Galaxy Tab: Android Tablet
After iPad came out I knew that the Android Tablet was not far behind in all the touch devices excitement.
We initially did a quick look at the Dell Streak. I guess Samsung wanted their part in the Android Tablet market too. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is the supposedly leaked Samsung Android Tablet.
I first heard about it somewhere but the name I got for Samsung Galaxy Tab was actually Samsung Tape. They called it such in, I think, Vietnam where it was supposedly leaked.
The pic is supposedly twit’picd by the Samsung Africa Official twitter.
Now I don’t really know what this tablet is made of but from my blog hopping I was able to come up with these few descriptions:
- 7 inch TFT screen
- runs on Android 2.2
- 3.5mm audio Jack
- 3.2 mp camera with a front facing cam too (prolly for vid calls)
- 3G, GPS, Wifi, and Bluetooth
And that’s pretty much what we’ve gathered.
I’m curious to know if this will be Dell Streak’s competition or even iPad’s competition.
What do you guys think?

The Screen will be AMOLED which means much brighter, and better battery life. The processor is 1.2 GHz.
There’s plenty of info if you Google Samsung Galaxy Tab. Maybe you should try that before posting.

I did Google it and I saw some sites such as: http://www.samsunghub.com/2010/06/03/samsung-galaxy-tab-image-leaked/ saying it’s TFT screen. There are some that say that MAYBE it’s S-AMOLED but they’re not really sure. After all I did mention that this is a leak and I don’t know much on any official information on this.

I’ve seen about 20 posts with half as many sources ( lots just parrot the Engadget site ).
Of all those only one besides your source only one besides yourself and your source failed to state AMOLED as definite.
I guess we’ll see pretty soon. I think it’s going to be killer.

Seriously look good, but not sure if getting this since I am going to buy the Galaxy S mobile. I hope it can be better than iPad though!

Well, the AMOLED rumor seemed open to debate for a while. We will know for sure on Thursday, September 2nd.
