Apple iPhone 4 Problems: Antenna Fail and other Defects

Posted by Evanjohnn on July 6th, 2010 and filed under Apple, Gadgets

Apple iPhone 4 has been receiving a lot of praises lately.

“It has a cool multi task feature!”

“I love the cam in front for video chatting!”

“This is just how I want my mobile device to be!”

While everyone else is busy praising the Apple iPhone 4 some people were not so happy with the iPhone 4 Antenna Fail. According to some sites such as Lanewsmonitor, CEO of Apple: Steve Jobs said that holding in the left hand happened to be the wrong way of using the iphone 4. But is this really the solution we are after?

I mean come on! Let’s say I only have a left hand, won’t that put me in an unfair situation or will I have to request a “lefties” handset.

So what is the problem exactly?

In case you don’t know what this antenna issue is all about, according to a number of customers, the iPhone 4′s antenna is not working. This is not because it just doesn’t work but it is because the signal gets blocked off when you cover the metal band in the bottom of the phone.

So how do I fix this problem?

Some websites have come up with various solutions. One website showed a picture with a mug handle on the back of the iPhone. Lol. Another website showed a picture of using your fingers to delicately handle a few parts of the edges of the phone.  This way you won’t have problems with the signal. But the question is, would you really wanna handle your phone in a “princess”-like manner?

I still haven’t seen anything online as to any other logical solution, but for now let’s just wait till Steve Jobs got a solution for all iPhone 4 users.

Do you have this Antenna problem? Leave a comment if you do.

Apple need to stop being so obsessed with keeping their product design a secret before release. I think they didn’t detect the problem mainly because when they tested it in real life conditions it was covered in a coat to make it look like a 3G. Also they rushed the release after the design leaked. I’m starting to think that sneaking into the Pentagon is easier than getting into Apple offices.

Another FAIL for accuracy in reporting…

Apple have only said that the number of bars shown in relation to signal strength is MORE than what they should be, and that they are using an incorrect formula for calculating this – which is being fixed in a software update soon for models 3G, 3GS, and iPhone 4.

That email that claimed it was from Steve Jobs suggesting that we were “holding it wrong” was proven to be FAKE.

I’m NOT a Fanboi, just being objective. Get the facts straight and check them before jumping on the rumor and innuendo bandwagon…

Just bought an Android EVO instead of the iphone4 after some research. Amazing device. I can even connect it to my HD TV. WiFi hotspot is fast. I can connect my macbook now everywhere. Also, I downloaded the free Kindle app and all the books I bought for my Kindle play on my Android.

Apple, Apple, Apple. What has happened to you? Just three weeks ago you were riding high on the iPad and the iPhone 4′s pending launch. Then you let AT&T kill the unlimited data plan and gave us a phone that has lots of problems. You gave us a lame response from a petulant CEO and now you cannot even get the mea culpa right in iteration #3 or 4.

Read this awesome article that lays into Apple for its quasi apology. Very funny.
